Do You Live in a Palace?
Music and Lyrics by Richard Ford
Composed for the Eco-Music For Big Band, Marie Incontrera leader

Do You Live in a Palace? is an anthem adapted from my musical, The Prisoner, wildly adaped to make a statement about our environment. In this case the conversations that make up our environment. Originally a song sung by the revolutionary-era Tito and other Partisans, in this re-imagining it becomes an American protest song that swings. Scored for 5-4-4 and rhythm section the piece calls on the band members to sing, kind of.
